FROM THE MOUTHS OF
HORROR FILMMAKERS:
An Introduction
By Joshua Handler
With the success of It Follows and the recent discussions it has sparked about the number of original, critically-acclaimed indie horror films being released, I wanted to reach out to some of the most original voices in horror cinema to ask them a few questions about the state of horror cinema today and why they believe there has been a resurgence of sorts of great horror.
The series will begin tomorrow with responses from Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, co-directors of the critically-acclaimed film, Spring, which is in theaters and on VOD now. The film has been described by David Ehrlich as "[a] mutant hybrid between Before Sunrise and An American Werewolf in London." I will also say that Spring is quite good. It's a true original that's beautifully-shot, nasty, and touching. The final shot makes the movie.
This series will run as long as filmmakers contribute.
